Visible ownership: In high-stakes decisions, a real person takes responsibility. For routine transactions, customers see clear escalation paths to human experts. Instead of 'the system processed your request,' customers know which qualified professional reviewed their case.
Transparent process: Customers understand that a specialist used powerful analytical tools to reach a conclusion, not that a machine made an autonomous choice. They see human expertise at work.
Direct access: For important decisions, customers can contact the actual decision-maker. Not a call center, not a generic help desk, but a professional who can explain their reasoning and address concerns directly.
The real battle isn't about eliminating algorithmic bias or achieving perfect explainability. It's about restoring clear accountability in moments that matter to customers.
Organizations worry that visible authority will slow processes or increase costs.
